Acura TL has always been one of the best choices available for medium-sized luxury sport sedan. While the TL does not usually produce the emotion or the prestige of competing European sedans, counters the exceptional value and above average durability and reliability.
The dominant trend is for cars to get bigger and more powerful each redesign, and as happened with the latest remake of the Acura TL. The current model TL is the largest yet, and offers more interior space, a powerful V6 engine and available all-wheel drive helps to offset the added weight. TL is also proud to present a series of gadgets and gizmos that represent the latest in automotive technology.
The current (fourth) generation may have upped the ante, but the technology and the performances are nothing new reinforcements to the TL. Major TLS are still known for their involvement and management services should be plentiful and a good choice for a luxury sport sedan used.
Current Acura TL
Now in its fourth generation, the current TL looks Brasher, highlighted by aggressive lines and a dramatic-looking grille. The current model offers more interior space than the third generation TL, and more power under the hood, and its route is more flexible than its predecessor.
Buyers can choose from two finishes: the base model and the sportier the SH-AWD. Basic car (which are front-wheel drive) are motivated 3.5-liter V6, which kicks off 280 hp. As the name implies, the SH-AWD version is a four-wheel drive and is powered by a 3.7 liter V6 engine 306 hp well. Five-speed automatic transmission steering wheel mounted paddles is standard on both trim and a six-speed manual is available on the SH-AWD.
The basic models are fairly well equipped, with standard features like 17-inch wheels, xenon headlights, a sunroof, leather upholstery and a stereo with eight speakers a dash six-CD. In addition to all-wheel drive and a more powerful engine, adds the SH-AWD brakes upgraded, alloy wheels 18 inches, sports suspension, sports steering feel and performance on the theme of upholstery and trim metal.
TL car enthusiasts at heart its edge gadgets, and the current model does not disappoint. Standard on base models have Bluetooth, satellite, USB port and dedicated iPod connection. Optional is technology include a navigation system that provides real-time traffic and weather updates, and the sound of digital music storage.
The reviews of the Acura TL, our editors have praised the many high-tech equipment, its spacious interior and a sophisticated stereo system. They called a few missteps, as well as inside the car fade and the fact that the basic models are hampered by the direction of communication and standard brakes. Thanks to the network much more handling and braking, the TL SH-AWD is a more convincing than the base model. Car's exterior design is also a question mark: Some buyers will love it, but others will probably find too authoritarian.
Used Acura TL Models
The current (fourth) generation TL debuted for the 2009 model year. There have been major changes since then, although the manual transmission was not offered during the first days of the TL.
The third generation TL was available for model years 2004-'08. The TL is distinguished by its chiseled exterior styling, firm suspension tuning, potent V6 and the impressive level of standard equipment. Both a six-speed manual transmission and a five-speed automatic with paddle shifters is available.
Two versions of the TL is available at this time: base and Type-S. TLS basic model built in the 2004 model and 2005 was estimated at 270 hp, while the 2006 and later models were ranked 258th in Note that this review merely reflects a change in the rating system standard horses - TL Engine has been changed.
Acura Type-S is equipped with a 286-hp 3.5-liter V6. They also have a sport suspension, Brembo brakes, high performance and unique styling elements, including four tailpipes. Unfortunately for fans, the Type-S is paused during the first part of the cycle model of TL and not hit the market until 2007.
Both versions of the TL came with an attractive, well built interior designed with a more sporting intent in mind. In our tests, we were impressed by the comfort Acura TL and dynamic capabilities, but ultimately found that its front-wheel drive configuration hampered its ability to compete with the dynamic handling offered by the top sports sedan rear-wheel drive. Type-S performance has increased slightly ante, increasing the processing power while adding sharper.
For a majority of consumers will use a TL of that time is a good mixture of pleasure, comfort and convenience at a reasonable price. Changes in the cycle of the model were scarce, but the TL received forty fresh for 2007, including the interior and minor exterior styling tweaks and an improved navigation system.
Second-generation Acura TL was built in 1999-2003. Although less exciting than the newer models, our editors gave the TL a very positive review during its execution. Improvements have been made in this period, and the car had a number of records TL, such as Honda VTEC variable valve timing and an optional navigation system. Efficient Type-S version, which was introduced in 2002, buyers should be considered seriously interested in improving performance. Regardless of trim level some, almost all second-generation, the model should be used to serve the good sedan shoppers.
The original Acura TL debuted in 1995 as a replacement for the Acura Vigor ones. Two versions have been proposed: one with a 2.5 TL 2.5 liter inline-5 engine and a TL 3.2 with a 3.2-liter V6 engine. Both models are available around the launch of the first generation, which lasted virtually unchanged until 1998. As yet there is little price difference between the two, suggests to consumers interested in a first-generation TL used to go for the more powerful 3.2.
